      一、课标解读

      根据英语新课标要求,初三学生要达到4级标准,具体内容如下:明确自己的学习需要和目标,对英语学习表现出较强的自信心。能在所设日常交际情景中听懂对话和小故事。能就熟悉的生活话题交流信息和简单的意见。能读懂短篇故事。能写便条和简单的书信。能尝试使用不同的教育资源,从口头和书面材料中提取信息,扩展知识,解决简单的问题并描述结果。能在学习中相互学习帮助,克服困难。能合理计划和安排学习任务,积极探索适合自己的学习方法。在学习和日常交际中能注意到中外文化的差异。

      二、学情分析:

      个性特征:初三学生经过两年的英语学习,两级分化已经显现,再加上受新冠疫情的影响,长时间的网课学习,部分学生因为缺少自制力,英语学习出现严重退步,直接导致他们自信心受挫,甚至想放弃英语学习。

      知识经验:初三学生已经具备一定的英语基础知识和能力,但在阅读时遇到新单词或是较难的句子时不能耐心积极地思考。

      三、教学目标:

      通过本节课的学习,学生要达到以下教学目标:

      1. 通过老师的自我介绍,能尽快认识老师,了解老师。

      2. 通过完成问卷调查,了解自身英语学习方法的使用状况,意识到好方法有助于好成绩。

      3. 通过归纳使用各种优质学习策略,找到改进自身学习英语的突破点。

      4. 通过阅读短文回答问题,了解高阶思维及考查题型,培养高阶思维能力。

      5. 通过作业设计和播放歌曲,学生重树信心,乘风破浪,勇敢前行!

      四、评价设计:

      1. 通过阅读老师的自我介绍内容,回答问题,完成教学目标1。

      2. 通过完成两个问卷调查表,并计算自己最终的得分,完成教学目标2。

      3. 通过呈现运用3种优质学习策略完成教学目标3。

      4. 通过阅读短文回答问题和解读高阶思维图表,完成教学目标4 。

      5. 通过播放《少年》这首歌的英文版,写新学期英语学习改进措施,完成教学目标5 。

      五、教学准备: 

      1. 问卷调查表

      2. Make a vedio called Brave the Wind and Waves

      3. A song called 《少年》 in English.

      六、教学过程:

      Step1:乘风破浪之导入篇

      Teacher's self-introduction

      First show the teacher's self-introduction to students, get them to know about the teacher by answering the following questions . Finally encourage students to ask more questions they would like to know about the teacher.

      【教师用语】Hello,boys and girls! Nice to meet you,I am your new English teacher this term. Would you like to know me ? Here is my self-introduction. Please read it carefully and answer the questions. Of course you can also ask questions you would like to know about me.

      Free talk

       First share the teacher's activities during the summer vacations.Then get students to share according to the questions to lead in to the topic----Brave the Wind and Waves.

      Q1: What do you think of your summer vacation? What did you do?

      Q2: What happened during the summer vacation? What touched you most?

      【教师用语】 Now it’s time to get to know you.  Did you have a good summer vacation? What did you do during the summer vacation? Did you travel? No. Because of the virus and the flood.Look at these pictures. What are they doing? How do you feel? I hope in the new term, everyone can also Brave the Wind and Waves.

      【学生分层活动】 About the teacher's self-introduction, students who learn English well can ask the teacher questions they'd  like to know; the other students can only answer the given questions.

      【教学评价】以表扬鼓励的方式对主动提问老师问题和分享假期经历的同学进行评价,通过问题What touched you most?引导激励学生进行更多的英语输出,以评价学生口语表达能力。

      【设计意图】本学期初三由于新分班,师生间彼此陌生。鉴于学生对新老师的种种好奇,开学第一课上,老师利用真诚热情,富含信息量的自我介绍来破冰就显得尤为重要。同时设计先以学生回答问题的形式检测对老师自我介绍的理解,再以学生主动提问问题来增进对老师的进一步了解。接下来自由对话环节,师生通过分享不一样的暑假生活(因疫情和洪灾不能外出旅游,但我们的生活因他们的守护而平安静好),直接导入本节课主题——乘风破浪

       

      Step2:乘风破浪之诊断篇

      Students' self-diagnosis

      First,ask students to make a survey about English study method.then,according to the score summed up their own learning methods of English.Finally get students to think about the questionWhat can you learn from the survey?

      【教师用语】 In your English study, I think you should also Brave the Wind and Waves. How do you learn EnglishLet's make a survey . After the survey you can work out your score to see if you have a good English learning habit.

      【教学评价】根据问卷调查得分情况,来反馈学生英语方法的使用情况,得分高的学生给予肯定表扬,得分较低的同学给予帮助和指导。

      【设计意图】 作为一名新接班的老师,及时了解学生的英语学情,有针对性地查漏补缺必不可少。同时学生在完成英语学习自我诊断过程中会明白:好的英语学习方法有助于自己取得好的英语成绩,而那些认为英语难学且学不好的孩子,就是因为他们缺少好的英语学习习惯。

       

      Step3:乘风破浪之策略篇

      【教师用语】To learn English well, you should not only work hard, but also learn wisely. How to learn wisely? Besides using the good learning methods from the survey, there are also three strategies for you.

      策略一:体验英语学习之趣味

      【教师用语】 We know interest is the best teacher. If you are interested in English learning, you will find it easy to learn it well. But what can you do to make English learning interesting?

      (The teacher can show the answer like this:)

      1.How   often do you listen to   English songs?

      【设计意图】我们知道兴趣是最好的老师。学生如果对哪科感兴趣,学好它就很轻松。所以开学第一课,我设计让学生汇总英语学习的多种有趣方法,这样既能巩固前面调查表里好的英语学习方法,又能激发新学期学生学习英语的兴趣和动力。

      策略二:突破单词记忆之瓶颈

      First ask students to share their methods of memorizing words. Then show the following ones to them.

      【教师用语】Some students find it difficult to memorize words. What's your opinion? How do you  memorize the words? Now I will show you a way----word association. I show a word, you try to think of more words, ok?

      (1)  . For the students who can learn English well, teacher can ask them to use the words to make    

         phrases or sentences.

      (2). For the students who can’t learn English well, they can think of only words.

      【教学评价】通过学生参与头脑风暴说出相关词汇,来拓展学生的单词数量和运用能力,从而及时对学生进行鼓励和评价。

      【教师用语】 Just now we learned a good way to memorize words. Now look at these sentences. Pay attention the blue words,what can you find? Yes, the same words, different parts of speech. Can you match them and translate them into Chinese? Next look at the two words---depend, fair. Who can add some letters to change them into different words? Let's have a try.

      【学生分层活动】

      (1)  . For the students who learn English well, find the rules and give examples.

      (2). For other students ,ask them to take the notes.

      【教学评价】通过参与词性连线和翻译练习,给予学生评价;通过对初三新单词的拓展,评价学生暑假作业预习单词的掌握情况。

      【设计意图】暑假作业要求学生背默前4单元的单词。针对同学中出现懒得背单词、不愿背单词或不会背单词等状况,开学第一课上我设计为学生推荐三种常用记忆单词的方法。如:联想记忆法,增加记忆词汇之间的联系。(其中两个中心词illness是初二下unit7主题词,chores是初三上unit1的主题词,由旧到新,达到复习和检测暑假预习作业的效果)。independencefairness,unfair是初三上unit1的新单词,利用学生熟悉的dependfair引出派生词、词根、前缀和后缀,学生很快就可以掌握这它们。最后再通过相应的习题来检测学生根据构词法运用单词的能力。相信通过老师的抛砖引玉,会大大降低学生背单词的难度,增强他们新学期学好英语的自信心。

      策略三:开启常规“悦读”之必备

      【教师用语】Reading is getting more and more important. But many students find it hard to do some reading, especially when the passage is long or has some new words in it. How to solve this problem? There are some tips for you.

      Set up a Word Bank.

      【教师用语】When meeting the words or phrases you don't know, write them down in the Word Bank. Then go over them anytime you have. The more words or phrases you know, the easier the passage will be.

      Analyze the sentence structure. 

      【教师用语】If you are good at grammar, you can analyze the long and complex sentences easily. Look,! This term we are going to learn these new grammar. For example:                                                                                                                         

       

      【设计意图】新课标对初三学生的阅读能力提出了更高要求,但事实上阅读不但是初三学生普遍存在的软肋,也是中考学子感到最难、失分最多的部分。究其原因或是因单词不认识看不懂句意,或是因句子结构复杂,理解起来一头雾水。针对这两个问题,开学第一课我直接为学生支两招。一是私人定制专属于自己的word bank,只要遇到不认识的单词词组,要及时将其存储其中并进行消化。二是要善于运用所学语法知识分析句子结构,理解其句意,从而激发学生背单词学语法的积极性。

      Develop the deep thinking. 

      First get students to look at the questions about the teacher's self-introduction again . Q3: What do you think of me? How do you know that?) Help them understand that answering this kind of questions can develop the deep thinking.Finally read a passage and answer the questions.

      【教师用语】At the beginning of the class,I introduced myself,Let's see Q3: What do you think of me? How do you know? This kind of question can develop the deep thinking.What is deeping thinking? What kinds of questions can develop the deep thinking? Let's look at this picture please.              

                   

      After that, get students to read the passage and answer the following questions.

      【学生分层活动】

      (1)  . For the students who learn English well, encourage them to ask more questions about deep thinking and express their opinions.

      (2). For other students ,ask them to try to answer questions about deep thinking.

      【教学评价】通过学生回答问题的情况,指导学生深度思考深入学习,同时对口语表达能力和是否具有高阶思维能力进行评价,检测目标4的达成情况。

      【设计意图】为检测学生是否明白高阶思维,我以课堂最初的自我介绍后的问题3为例进行说明,这样学生理解起来应该就不难了。随后再以一篇短文为例进行真题演练,启发学生对语篇进行深度分析归纳和总结,切实培养学生的高阶思维。

      Step4: 乘风破浪之励志篇

      Get students to watch the video. (with the song 《少年》 in English and the following pictures).

      【教师用语】At the end of the class, let's watch a video. While watching it, think about a  question:What can you learn from them?                       

                   

                   

      【教师用语】 In our daily life, there are always some unexpected winds and waves. Everyone should brave the winds and waves. As a student, you should brave any difficulties and problems in the new term. When you want to give up, you can think of these heroes.You can learn some great spirits from them. Brave the winds and waves like them. Keep on studying! Not only study hard, but also learn wisely! Because there are always more methods than difficulties.

      【设计意图】本节课最后播放《少年》英文版,再配上新冠疫情以来全国所有医护人员、党员干部、部队军人以及无数志愿者在疫情面前,在洪水面前不惧危险、乘风破浪的图片资料,将本节课的德育励志教育推向高潮,意在鼓舞学生能在新学期的学习中,同样不惧困难、乘风破浪、勇往直前!

       

      Step5: 乘风破浪之作业篇

      Get students to choose the homework A or B to finish.

      A:  Write a passage about your English study in the new term.

         

      B:Sort out notes about English study methods. Next class comment on the notes.

      【设计意图】作业分层设计旨在让不同层次的学生在学习完本节课后都有成就感,A层作业设计是写一篇有关新学期英语学习的文章,介绍自己在新学期乘风破浪的具体做法,这也是对本节课多种学习方法是否掌握的直接检测。B层作业要求对本节课的学习内容进行笔记整理,这对课堂听讲的一种直接检测,目的是鼓励后进生课堂有事可做,不放弃学习,之后再进行笔记展评,帮助他们树立学习英语的自信心。
